- Are employees of the Research Foundation, Spartan Shops, Student Union or Associated
Students included in the Executive Order?

No. Only employees of the CSU are included.

- Are student employees (student assistants, work study students, Teaching Assistants,
Graduate Assistants, etc.) included in the Executive Order?

Yes. All employees of the CSU are included.

- Are volunteer employees included in the Executive Order?

No. Only employees of the CSU are included.

- If a student reports abuse (current or prior) in a class assignment, am I required
to report it?

Yes. If there is any suspected abuse or neglect employees must report it.

- Is an electronic signature valid on the acknowledgment form?

No. Only wet signatures are accepted.

- Can I fax or email the form to University Personnel?

No. You must forward the original copy of the signed form. We suggest keeping a copy for yourself.

- What if I don't want to sign the acknowledgment form?

Each employee is required to be a mandated reporter. Employees who refuse to sign the form may be subject to discipline, as the acknowledgment is a condition of employment.

- Are off-campus employees required to sign the acknowledgment form?

Yes. All employees of the CSU, no matter the location, are required to sign the acknowledgment form.

- If I was already a mandated reporter before the Executive Order came out do I have
to sign the form?

Yes. All CSU employees must sign the form and have it placed in their personnel file.

- I'm not teaching this semester but will be back in the fall. Do I have to sign the
form now or can I wait?

If you are not currently being paid by the CSU you are not required to sign the form. However, if you know you will be returning in the fall it is best to sign it now.
